| The Municipal Building Commission board was created in1904 and given exclusive care and control of all of the completed portions of the Minneapolis City Hall and Hennepin County Courthouse building. The MBC Board is comprised of the Chair of the Board of County Commissioners of Hennepin County, the Mayor of the City of Minneapolis, a person appointed by the Board of County Commissioners of Hennepin County and a person appointed by the City Council of the City of Minneapolis. The County Board Chair serves as President of the MBC and the Mayor of Minneapolis serves as the Vice President.
